Our Caring for Self while Caring for Others Series will be starting again this fall.
Topics we will be covering this year include building a healthy nervous system, stress management, vitality, working with difficult patient populations and sustaining resilience over time. As always, we will be taking a unique and holsitic perspective, and will bring you up-to-date findings from the fields of medicine, stress management, neuroscience, addiction sciences and trauma psychology. We are committed to bringing you tools, knowledge and wisdom that can translate into better self-care, better health and better patient care.
As in previous years, each talk will include some PowerPoint and some experiential exercises designed to help regulate your autonomic nervous system or improve resilience. Often video of leaders in the field of stress physiology, secondary traumatic stress or clinician well-being will also be included. Our small group sizes and core of long-term attendees invite a sense of belonging and community.
Our full list of titles, program descriptions and learning objectives will be released in September. If there is a topic you would like included, or if you would like Irina and I to travel to your workplace or city, please contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
We are working on a Facebook Page and hope to have that up and running in the fall. In the meantime, you can scroll down through the blog, and get a sense of our approach from previous Caring for Self entries.
Our 2017-18 dates have been finalized and we will again be presenting at the OMA offices in downtown Toronto:
October 11th, November 15th 2017 and
January 16th, February 21st and March 21st 2018
Hope to see you then, and please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions and suggestions. The program is growing with the input of attendees, old and new.
